Initially The Sound Station is offering tuition in the following:

001 - Guitar for beginners

This is something the studio offers to younger musicians who are just starting to play or have managed to get past the first few hurdles of learning the guitar. A half hour lesson for £10 will give the beginner enough to take home and work on for the rest of the week. Practice at home is so important at this stage and a beginner should be playing at least ½ an hour per night if not more. If you are an intermediate player we can offer rhythm and soloing techniques that would certainly up your game.

What we teach:

Tuning the strings - Notes of each string - Chords and how to play them
A simple formula teaching what chords fit into different keys. - Using a capo.

We are not qualified to teach beginners to read music this is something that has to be studies in depth and can be done at a school or college. The whole idea is to get beginners strumming the guitar as quickly as possible. This helps keep the interest while trying to master techniques that are unnatural at first
